The new Panasonic AF102 offers the Micro 4/3" size sensor. This sensor size results in a shallow depth of field, rendering pictures that isolate the foreground subject from the out-of-focus background, hence the 'Film Look'.
If shooting off-the shoulder or hand held, this camera offers more 'in focus' area than the F3 due to the smaller sensor size - therefore the AF102 can be a more practical and safer option for certain projects.


PLEASE NOTE; The AF102 native record mode of 24Mbs may not meet the required international HD standard of 50Mbs. Off-board recording via the NanoFlash may be required.

The HDX-900 is a 2/3" CCD camcorder that records 100Mb/s HD images in any of 11 international video formats, encompassing 60Hz and 50Hz (NTSC and PAL). The EX3 is a mid-size, lightweight, versitle 'quasi-broadcast' quality camera that records on solid state SXS cards at 35Mbs. Niche can offer two 'hard to come by' lenses for the EX3 - the Fujinon Standard S20x6.4BERM (2x extender) and the Canon YH12x4.8KRS wide-angle. Take the standard Sony 14x lens instead if you prefer, we have that too. The EX3 delivers a very good native HD picture, for the price. We do not recommend the EX3 for SD deliverable projects (the picture quality deteriorates during SD down-conversion). If you require something more upmarket, want to shoot HD, but deliver in SD, we recommend the Sony PDW700 as more cabable and suitable.

PLEASE NOTE; The EX3 native record mode of 35Mbs, does not meet the international HD minimum recording standard of 50Mbs. Off-board recording via the NanoFlash may be required.
