The updated version of the massively popular DSR570, the DSR450 suffered due to the confusing nature of Sony's numbering system. For years Production managers have been incorrect in thinking the 570 was the later model than the 450.
Despite the DSR450's numbering disadvantage, several refinements and improvments did indeed make the DSR450 a superior camcorder to the DSR570. Improvements and additions, such as the, new & improved EX CCD's, Flip-out monitor, 25p Progressive option, expanded menu options and the redesign of the body and ergonomics, makes this, the DVCam camera of choice for those in the know.
